Quilter's Crossing engages in several philanthropic activities throughout the year. Below is a list of our current Philanthropic projects. For more information contact a us at quilterscrossingguild@gmail.com with Philanthropic in the subject line.
F.E.A.S.T. (Food Emergency and Services Team) With our meetings being virtual through the 2020/2021 year, we no longer raised money through our 50/50 raffle. Instead members sent in donations marked for feast and to date our guild has raised and donated $6066.00. Members also continue to donate canned goods as well as donations of food by purchasing food through Buy Farm Food
Quilter's Crossing members sew quilts and donate them to Pinellas Sheriff Advocates to put in police cars for comfort to children and adults as needed. We will have delivered 50 quilts by the end of our 2020/2021 year.
Quilts of Valor: Members make quilt blocks out of red, white, blue, cream and/or gold fabrics of different patterns are made into a Quilt of Valor to be awarded to our Veterans. Thank you to those who donate the blocks and those who sew the blocks together, as well as the longarm quilters who selflessly donate their time to quilting them.
The Haven of RCS This year our guild also donated 50 quilts to The Haven of RCS for their homeless and domestic abuse shelters.
In addition to our many Philanthropic Projects, Quilter's Crossing, Inc. donates regularly to the following:
- National Quilt Museum
- WUSF-TV
- The Community Center for the use of Harbor Hall.
